Hand gestures are one way to understand Italian speak

“Non si parla senza i gesti”(One does not speak without using gestures).

I’ve heard more than one exuberant Italian tell me this. Certain expressions to signify pleading, indignation and happiness are quick to learn and I can say I’ve totally caught on.
